The coming Silent disaster

Mervyn K. Vogt                                      worldoxygenlevels.com

Why the silence????

We must assume that Barak Obama has immediate access to the top scientists and scientific information in the world. Why then has there been no mention, not a one of the potential massive world- wide consequences of the oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.

We are getting heart wrenching pictures of oil coated birds , fish and animals. It is right that people should display concern for this, but there is an even more massive world -wide threat that is masked behind this media and political smokescreen.

A disaster on a massive world wide scale.

In 1968 there was the first major oil disaster in the North Sea, when an oil tanker the Torrey Canyon sank with its huge cargo of oil. A cargo of 120,000 tons of oil. The threat was considered so great at the time that the United Kingdom sent bombers to destroy the Torrey Canyon. The oil company concerned then was BP. The oil company concerned today is--- you guessed it BP.

At that time the late Lloyd Berkner was one the world’s top scientists and authorities on the world’s oxygen levels. He pointed out that diatoms, which are microscopic sea plants provide the world with more than half of its renewable oxygen.

Berkner then calculated that it would only take a very few disasters such as the Torrey Canyon in the wrong places and at the wrong time to trigger a sudden and irreversible drop in the world oxygen levels. He then pointed out that such sudden drops had already occurred in the history of our planet, causing massive extinction events, destroying most living things on the planet.

Then the amount of oil concerned was 120,000 tons. In the Golf of Mexico today the amount is estimated at a million tons per day, for the last 75 days. That is 75 million tons +.

Obama has a responsibility not only to America and the American people, but to the whole world.

The irresponsible, massively rich and powerful oil barons and their corporations have already demonstrated by their past actions, in events like the Xxon Valdex that they will not even properly attempt to rectify, correct, or compensate for their greed driven disasters. Indeed they spent massive amounts of money to avoid  responsibility and seemingly subvert the course of justice.

The obscenely rich corporate and irresponsible Robber Barons in the oil industry must be reigned in and brought to account before it is too late. They cannot be allowed to destroy us all.

The USA was the major architect of corporations in their present form, it gave them birth and it nurtured them. It therefore bears a responsibility to their rest of the world for their predatory and destructive actions. The USA MUST BE PART OF THE SOLUTION.

Initially the Americans showed considerable wisdom and foresight. Corporations were chartered. Rules were set out in the charter as to what the corporations could, and could not, do. Almost every charter contained a requirement that the corporation must act in the best interests of the community. If the requirements of the charter were not met the charter was withdrawn and the corporation could no longer operate.

The people controlled the corporations then, not as it is today, where they control us.

The problem today is so massive that the only possible solution that I can see is for the international community and the United Nations to forget petty politics and stupid bickering and to act in concert to bring corporations back under control. It will not be easy, already much more than half of the biggest economies in the world are not democratic states, but despotic corporations.

The USA and the UN must act now, before it is too late for us all. Start acting now-today. In every public place scream your anger and demand for action. Together we can do it. We can do it now. Scream until our national and international leaders act on our demands. If we do not do it now we may not have enough oxygen for the last scream and we will end perhaps without even a whimper.

For our children and our children’s children.

File:The Scream.jpgScream now, Scream - demand justice and the right to breathe. Do it individually, in groups and in every public  place.

Show and send this to as many people as possible.

Talk to as many people as possible
